Following Liverpool's shattering Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, Mohamed Salah issued an emotional message.
The Reds were eliminated from the Champions League after losing 1-0 in Paris last weekend.
Salah and his teammates, on the other hand, won the EFL Cup and the FA Cup in their quest for the quadruple this season.
Salah has conveyed his grief at not being able to wreak revenge on the Spanish giants in his first social media tweets following the tragic loss in the Champions League final.
He also praised Liverpool supporters for their support during what he described as a "long" campaign.
The 29-year-old said on Twitter: "It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be recognised by both fans and sports writers in the same season.
"However, I would forego all of those personal accolades in exchange for a chance to relive the final, but that is not how football works."
"I cannot convey in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool, but in the end we couldn't," he added in another post. I can't express my gratitude to the fans enough for their support.
"It's been a long season, but I'm looking forwards to the next one starting tomorrow."
Salah had had another outstanding season, winning his third Premier League Golden Boot (tied with Tottenham's Son Heung-min).
In addition, he was selected Premier League Fans' Player of the Year.
Despite stating that he will return to Anfield next season, his future remains uncertain.
The Egyptian international's current contract expires in June 2023, and sources indicate he might leave Liverpool for one of their rivals if a new agreement is not reached.
He's been in negotiations with the club about extending his stay for more than a year, but has yet to sign a new deal.
Since returning to England, Salah has had five successful and trophy-laden seasons with Liverpool.
He's scored 156 goals and won the Premier League and Champions League this season, in addition to the domestic crowns.
Salah, on the other hand, was left disappointed once again against Real, as Vinicius Junior's second-half goal was enough to separate the two teams.
Henry has told him that he should not talk before the game and should instead wait until he has won before speaking.
"It's all about putting the ball in the back of the goal, as we've mentioned many times. They [Real Madrid] have a shot on goal and score "According to the Arsenal legend.
After putting on one of the best final performances, the former Chelsea goalie expressed his displeasure with members of the UK press, demonstrating Salah how to air his frustrations.
"To earn respect for my name, I needed to win this final. Because I am undervalued, particularly in England, "After the game, the goalkeeper stated.
"...In March, a magazine did not rank me among the top 10 [goalkeepers in the world]. It's funny that they don't have to put me in the top 10, yet they don't have to put me in the top 10.
"I suppose that has something to do with how I left Chelsea, but I won the Premier League twice in England, and I don't think I ever got recognised for it, especially after my first year with Real Madrid."
Salah and his colleagues had to quickly put their unhappiness behind them as they took part in a trophy procession around Liverpool to commemorate the FA Cup and Carabao Cup victories.
The former Roma forwards had to swallow his disappointment for the second time in a week and return to be praised for his exploits.
The 29-year-old had to accept the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Year honours last week, just after the Reds missed out on the Premier League championship, something he didn't seem too thrilled about.
