ATTAINING JANNAT IS NOT CHEAP SO LETS STRIVE FOR IT. BismilLah
Paradise is an expensive merchandise, and al-Firdaws al-A‘la is the highest and the best part of Paradise. No one reaches it except those whom ALLAH has singled out for more of HIS grace due to their efforts on earth to please HIM.
The people of al-Firdaws al-A‘alaa are the ones who hasten to do good as they are commanded or instructed. ALLAH, may HE be exalted, says;
“And those foremost (in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,) will be foremost (in Paradise).
These will be those nearest to ALLAH.
In the Gardens of delight (Paradise)”
[Quran 56:10-12].
Our ultimate goal should be, to be from among those people who shall be the foremost. But we should remember that this goes with a great responsibility. That is, always trying as much as possible to vie healthily with one another when it comes to the performance of virtuous deeds
Sheikh Ibn Katheer said:
Whoever competes in doing righteous deeds in this world and wins the contest, in the hereafter he will be among the first to attain reward and honour, for the recompense matches the nature of the deed and as you do, so you will be requited. Tafseer Ibn Katheer (7/517). Let’s be serious in our approach to the various acts of worship. Just seeking for Jannat with our mouth without putting in the needed efforts cannot be enough to enable us have the Paradise which we yearn for, let’s act and live our life worthy of been considered as a Muslim or as a Muslimah worthy of Jannat because if you are not good enough to play for your local team you do not complain why the national team couch has not invited you for the national team. May ALLAH, AN-NUR (The Light, The Illuminator) have mercy on us and purify our hearts and intentions in all we do. Aameen.
It is worth noting that, in order to avoid performing acts devoid of rewards from Allah, the Most Glorious, the Most High, we must purify our intentions. We should make sure that whatever we do is solely for the pleasure of Allah and not for showing off. We should do virtuous deeds without the mindset of earning praise and other compliments from people. It is related that he who gives charity so that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives shall be among those people who would be under the perfect shade of Allah, the most High the most Glorious, on the the when there will be no shade except His shade.
Hence our intentions matters most with regards to the deeds we carry out. We pray that Allah the most Glorious, the most High protect us from Riya(show off) in all that we do. Aameen.
