Real Madrid are apparently set to enter the fight to sign Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, who appears to be on the verge of leaving Anfield.

On May 28, Mane, 30, was a member of the Liverpool team that fell 1-0 to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

Following the game, Diario AS (via Mirror) reported that the Senegalese forward informed his teammates that he will be leaving the Reds this summer.

Mane has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga winners.

The 30-year-old is close to agreeing a £25 million move to the Allianz Arena, according to L'Equipe (via Express).

Real Madrid, on the other hand, appears to have entered the picture, with BILD stating that the La Liga winners are mulling a deal for Mane.

Mane had been a target for Los Blancos in the past, with former manager Zinedine Zidane pushing for the club to sign the Senegalese star in 2020.

The Liverpool striker has had a fantastic season for both his club and his nation, establishing himself as one of Europe's best players.

Mane has appeared in 51 games for Jurgen Klopp's team this season, scoring 23 goals and assisting on five occasions.

He played a key role in the team's quest for an unprecedented quadruple, which included victories in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

Mane won the African Cup of Nations in February for the Senegalese national team before qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Following the rejection of Kylian Mbappe, is Real Madrid eyeing Sadio Mane of Liverpool?

With Kylian Mbappe's contract expiring this summer, Real Madrid was generally anticipated to sign the Paris Saint-Germain sensation.

Carlo Ancelotti's team has long sought the French forward, who has made it known that he wants to join the La Liga champions.

PSG, on the other hand, made a last-ditch attempt to re-sign their star player.

Mbappe was given a new three-year contract for around £100 million by the Parisians, with a monthly salary of £4 million.

Mbappe agreed to the deal, putting a stop to Madrid's pursuit of the attacker.

As a result, Los Blancos are still looking for their next 'galactico.'

That might come in the form of Mane, who has been nominated for the 2022 Ballon d'Or prize for his outstanding season this year.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, will face stiff competition from Bayern Munich, who appear ready to bring Mane to the Bundesliga.
