Colombia appointed Argentine Nestor Lorenzo as their new national coach
Colombia delegated Argentine Nestor Lorenzo as their new national coach in Thursday following the group's inability to make the current year's World Cup finals in Qatar.
Lorenzo was allowed a four-year contract and replaces Reinaldo Rueda, who was sacked in April after Colombia completed 6th in South America's 10-group qualifying gathering to pass up a spot at the show-stopper occasion.
Previous Colombia chief Amaranto Perea will be Lorenzo's partner.
"We invite Nestor Lorenzo, trusting that he will procure numerous victories with our Colombian national group," Colombia's soccer organization said in a proclamation.
Lorenzo was coaching Peruvian club Melgar, the ongoing heads of Peru's first class association.
The 56-year-old has spent a lot of his coaching profession as partner to comrade Jose Pekerman, including at three World Cups - with Argentina in 2006 and Colombia in 2014 and 2018. He likewise worked with Pekerman at Mexican clubs Toluca and Tigres.
Colombia next face Saudi Arabia in an international well disposed on June 5.
