The disputable presentation of South African teams into next season's European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup rivalries ought to be invited, Rene Bouscatel leader of the French Rugby League (LNR) told AFP on Saturday.

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), the competition's overseeing body, reported on Thursday that five South African sides would enter the two rivalries next season.

The Stormers, the Bulls and the Sharks will contend in the Champions Cup "following amazing efforts in the United Rugby Championship", while the Lions and the Cheetahs will offer to lift the Challenge Cup.

Bouscatel, who managed Toulouse winning the European Cup multiple times as president, said their entrance must be great for working fair and square of rugby.

"It is in the interest of everyone, including the players, that they challenge groups they have never played against," said Bouscatel.

"That will raise the level of every single homegrown rivalry, including the Top 14, and will likewise meaningfully affect the public side.

"The benefit of this is all there is to it will see an improvement in the level of the European Cup by increasing the expectations of the homegrown titles."

Bouscatel says it was unavoidable regardless the South African groups would be essential for the rivalries.

"The United Rugby Championship had declined a little and was overwhelmed by the Irish territories," said Bouscatel.

"The Celtic sides believed the South Africans should participate in it in order to work on the norm.

"In this way it is typical they play in the European competitions. In the event that they finish in the top spots, they are equipped for those contests."

Bouscatel's perspective isn't all around shared.

Vincent Merling, leader of the recently delegated European bosses La Rochelle, said he is against it.

"We have completely lost our character," expressed Merling just before the declaration.

"You know the upsides of our club. This is absolutely against our perspective."

Bouscatel, however, hit back at such analysis.

"There are generally conservatives," he said snickering.

"Is the Tour de France still the Tour de France when it begins in Copenhagen?

"Contests advance.

"A far superior European Cup is significant."

The players also are isolated.

Stade Francais second column forward Pierre-Henri Azagoh saw both the potential gain and the disadvantage.

"It will be a decent encounter to go there and play against South African groups," the France international told AFP.

"However, the facts confirm that it isn't nearby, that will carve out opportunity to arrive, it will be somewhat tiring yet in addition advancing."

Be that as it may, Racing 92 focus Henry Chavancy was non-plussed by the choice.

"This dangers contorting the interest a smidgen, and the historical backdrop of the opposition." said the 34-year-old previous international.

"By and by I see this as somewhat odd."
