In order to win the Champions League, the participating team's squad must be exceptional.

A fantastic team has the best goalkeeper, defenders, and forwards.

Check out the top ten Champions League champions since the competition's debut.

Bayern's Champions League title in 2019/20 is the most statistically significant, with the first-ever perfect record – 11 games, 11 wins.

Spurs were humiliated 7-2, Red Star Belgrade 6-0, Chelsea 7-1 on aggregate, and Lyon were thrashed 3-0.

They also thrashed Barcelona 8-2 in the quarterfinals (the first time the Catalan club had conceded eight goals in a game since 1946) with a ferocity and cruelty that belonged in the final.

All of this took place in deserted stadiums that resembled hospital wards.

They concluded the season with a continental triple and a 30-game winning streak across all competitions.

Because of its young, Bayern's 19/20 squad isn't spoken in the same breath as great teams from the past; yet, in a few years, this team will be recognized as the ideal European winning machine.

Liverpool 2004/05 (9)

Liverpool's 2004/05 team didn't have much skill (they finished fifth in the league), but they showed passion, energy, and tactical understanding as they proceeded through the Champions League.

The Miracle of Istanbul is one of the greatest comebacks in football history.

Liverpool fought back from a 3-0 deficit in the second half thanks to goals from Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer, and Xabi Alonso.

Extra time was ineffective in separating the sides, therefore penalties were decided by Jerzy Dudek's weak knees saving shots from the opposition.

Real Madrid was ranked number eight in the 2001/02 season.

Zinedine Zidane's sideways volley was the icing on the cake for a typical Galácticos side.

Figo, Ral, Guti, Makélélé, Roberto Carlos, and world-record signing Zizou united to finish third in La Liga but win Real Madrid's sixth Champions League title, which was secured by the Frenchman's left-footed pearler against an excellent Bayer Leverkusen side.

Real Madrid 2017/2018 (7th)

A third-place finish in La Liga (three points ahead of fourth-place Valencia and 17 points behind champions Barcelona) was a massive domestic underachievement.

Madrid has been criticized for slacking in the league, having dropped five games against teams in the bottom half of the table.

The Bernabeu-based team rose to the challenge in Europe, capturing their third European title in a succession.

Real Madrid overcame Liverpool 3-1 in the final, with Gareth Bale scoring one of the best goals in Champions League history.

Real Madrid, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and the rest of the club, rose to the occasion once more, triumphing against all odds in a way that only a few teams in football history have done.

Ajax (1994-1996).

Ajax made history during the 1994-95 Champions League season.

With the exception of Frank Rijkaard, they were the youngest team to win the continental title that year, with all of their players under the age of 25.

With their Total Football style of play, the team wowed football fans.

The defending champions, AC Milan, faced them three times in the tournament: twice in the group stage and once in the final.

They didn't give up a goal in any of their three games. Ajax returned to the competition final the next season after capturing the prestigious trophy the previous season. They did, however, lose 4-2 to Juventus on penalties.

Manchester United was the fifth best team in the world from 2007 to 2008.

Manchester United enjoyed a terrific season in the Champions League in 2007-2008.

In attack, a young Cristiano Ronaldo made the difference with the support of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez.

The Red Devils overcame opponent clubs with ease on their way to the final, including Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The thought of an all-English final in Europe's top event was thrilling, and the game delivered. Both teams were deadlocked at 1-1 after 120 minutes, pushing the game into a penalty shootout, which United won to win their third Champions League title.

4. Real Madrid in the 2013/14 season

This is the tenth. Real Madrid is the most successful team in the history of the European Cup, despite taking a lengthy time to reach double digits.

Although it wasn't as long as Los Blancos' 32-year gap between wins in 1966 and 1998, 12 years was a long time for a club that prides itself on its European performances, having won their last trophy in 2002.

A team led by a 17-goal scorer Cristiano Ronaldo overcame both the previous year's finalists 3-0 (Dortmund) and 4-0 (Atlético Madrid) on his way to a tense Madrid derby final with an Atlético Madrid squad that had just won La Liga for the first time in 18 years (Bayern).

Manchester United's third season was 1998/99.

Before becoming the latest unlucky icon to carry the heat for Manchester United's current behind-the-scenes omnishambles, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was Old Trafford's baby-faced assassin.

In the 1999 Champions League final, his super-sub abilities were on full display.

Manchester United had advanced as the best runners-up after facing fellow finalists Bayern Munich in the group round.

In the knockout stages, they faced Inter Milan and Juventus.

The semi-final included a stunning 4-3 aggregate victory over Juventus, who had led 2-0 after 11 minutes of the second leg.

Bayern Munich appeared to be going too far as they clawed their way to the final, scoring early and squandering numerous opportunities.

United appeared to be doomed until the last minute goal to clinch the title from Bayern Munich.

Barcelona 2014/15 (second)

Perhaps the best front three in Champions League history is Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar.

Barcelona's supremacy was largely due to MSN's 27 goals, as they overcame the English champions (Man City), the French champions (PSG), and the German champions (Bayern Munich) before defeating the Italian champions (Juventus) in the final.

This was the year in which Messi thrashed Boateng utterly. They are without a doubt Europe's champions.

2010/2011 Barcelona

Pep Guardiola's Barcelona is perhaps the best football squad in history. The team's style of play was enjoyable to see.

During the 2008-09 Champions League season, they annihilated their opponents and triumphed with grace.

They advanced to the final by defeating Olympique Lyon, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea. They faced Manchester United in the final and defeated them by 3 goals to 1
