According to rumours in Spain, Liverpool is preparing to make a bid for Barcelona's teenage star Gavi.
The 17-year-contract old's with the club expires in 2023, and he has been linked with a number of big clubs in recent months.
Gavi's agent, Ivan de la Pena, is reportedly in clashes with Barcelona authorities over a new contract at the Nou Camp, according to Diario Sport.
As a result, Barcelona is said to be under threat from Liverpool, who are interested in signing the midfielder.
De la Pena was upset with club president Joan Laporta, according to a story from the same journal earlier this week, over comments he made implying Gavi's representation were dragging out contract negotiations and postponing their decision.
Gavi has yet to receive an official extension request from the club, according to De la Pena.
Gavi, who came through the club's renowned La Masia academy, wants to continue in Barcelona as long as a new deal can be reached.
Given Barcelona's current financial condition, Liverpool would be able to offer the player a greater wage.
Gavi came into Barcelona's first team at the start of the season and has had a fantastic debut season.
In total, the 17-year-old has made 47 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting six times.
After a surprise maiden call-up for the Spanish national team's Nations League triumph over Italy in October, he has earned six caps for Luis Enrique's side.
This season, Gavi has been connected with a variety of clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Aurelien Tchouameni of Monaco has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, however the French midfielder is more likely to join Real Madrid.
