In the wake of reports that Harry Magurie's armband may be taken away, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag will enable players to vote on who should be their captain next season.

Last season's captain, Harry Maguire, looks on. Manchester United will vote on who will be their next captain, and it isn't expected to be Cristiano Ronaldo or Harry Maguire.
According to The Sun, David de Gea is the favorite to succeed the defense. Erik ten Hag is said to have stated that he would be pleased for the entire dressing room to vote on their new captain.
It is emphasized that Maguire's replacement as captain is not a "rebellion" against the defence. It's more of a show of support for a player who is well-liked at the club. Despite only having been at the club for six months at the time, former Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose Maguire as the team's new captain.
The England defender is ecstatic to have been given the armband, but some believe it has harmed his performance. Ronaldo, the club's best scorer last season with 24 goals across all competitions, is also said to be a contender.
However, it is expected that he, too, would be passed over in favor of the 31-year-old Spaniard. When United almost entirely disintegrated under Ralf Rangnick towards the end of the season, De Gea was one of the most vocal players.

It appears that Cristiano Ronaldo will be overlooked.
After his side's loss to relegation-threatened Everton, the Spaniard delivered a harsh assessment of his team. "It's an embarrassment. "We're not up to it," the Spaniard told BT Sport. "It's not acceptable that they have more desire than we have."
Meanwhile, the goalkeeper pleased teammates and coaches last season by reporting to training early in the summer, ahead of pre-season, in order to beat out Dean Henderson.
De Gea's £375,000-a-week contract has one year left on it. United also has a 12-month option available.
