"Ghana is worse off than it was 43 years ago," Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South, has criticized the present condition of affairs in the nation.

She said that the terrible social and economic suffering, social inequality, immense corruption, and nepotism that Ghanaians were facing could not be comparable to what occurred 43 years earlier, when former President Jerry John Rawlings led the June 4 revolt.

Madam Gomashie, addressing at the end of a June 4 Health Walk in Aflao, said it had become even more vital to remember the day, especially at a time when justice, equity, and the provision of chances for everyone were needed so that those who were reeling might recover.

"What is going on in the country right now is nothing like what was going on in 1979 when the June 4 revolution took place. Things have become worse. Massive corruption, greed, and contempt for the people are culminating in today's destitution, misery, and dissatisfaction of the majority..." she stated.

"It's still important in the present moment since similar cankers are growing even more prominent," the MP said, adding that the revolt accomplished its goal at the time by combating corruption, greed, and nepotism, among other things.

Mr Bright Korku Kumordzi, the NDC's Ketu South Constituency Chairman, said there was something wrong with the rate at which public lands and properties were reportedly transferred to private persons, and he asked for tougher steps to stop it.

Mr. George Loh, the NDC's Regional Vice Chairman, said the June 4 Revolution, which sparked the rebellion, was an opportunity to reflect on the causes that sparked the movement.

"The rescue mission is underway, be prepared to campaign for success in 2024," he said, urging party supporters to fight hard to gain power in the next elections so that Ghanaians may be rescued from their current sufferings.
