His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has congratulated Vodafone Ghana for its significant contribution to sustainable development in the Ashanti Region.
Apart from supporting the famous Asantehene Open Golf Championship, he claims that Vodafone has implemented measures that help everyone, particularly women and children, for which he applauds the corporation.
When the senior management team of Vodafone Ghana made him a courtesy call at the Manhyia Palace last Friday, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II remarked this.
The visit was to announce intentions to prolong Vodafone's sponsorship of the Asantehene Open Golf Tournament, which it has supported for the past five years. Patricia Obo-Nai, the Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Ghana, who headed the team, expressed her delight at her company's renewed sponsorship of the Asantehene Open Golf Championship.
She explained that the sport's assistance was intended to not only deepen Vodafone's connection with His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the people of Asanteman, but also to encourage sustainable development in the region via innovative ideas.
"This year, we've dubbed the month 'Boa Asanteman,' in recognition of the region's critical sustainable development requirements. We will address a number of challenges in collaboration with His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's Foundation.
"These include promoting healthy lives and wellbeing through our Healthfest initiative; reducing maternal mortality through our free ultrasound screening; driving free and inclusive education for all through our Instant Schools activations; empowering SMEs with digital skill training through our SME Clinics; and ensuring the region's environmental sustainability through a tree-planting exercise," she said.
"With this official visit, we like to notify His Royal Majesty that our 2022 Ashanti-month campaign begins now," she announced.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended Vodafone for promoting health and education in the Ashanti area, as well as for spearheading sustainable development in the Ashanti region. He encouraged the group to keep up the good job.
The Asantehene also took use of the chance to charge the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi in order to ensure that Vodafone receives the necessary exposure as the Championship's main sponsor. In the meanwhile, Otumfuo has urged golfers and the general public to use Vodafone's products and services.
