After Anthony Elanga's comments about Sweden's position, Erik ten Hag has been given a new headache at Man United.

On Sunday night, the Manchester United forward scored his first international goal and then revealed that he had not been used in his best position for the club.

Anthony Elanga has stated that he prefers his job for Manchester United to the position he plays for Sweden at the international level.

Elanga celebrated his first goal for Sweden in just his third senior international cap

Up Sunday night's Nations League match against Norway, the brilliant 20-year-old scored his first goal for his country, and the United striker put in an excellent display. Elanga used to play on the left side of the attack for Sweden, but he now prefers to play on the right for United

Last season, Elanga had a breakout season at Old Trafford, making 27 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils. Despite this, he was mostly seen on the right side of the field for United, with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford playing on the left.

However, the attacker has stated that he believes he can be more successful and a greater goal threat when he plays in his native left-sided position. Because Elanga is naturally right-footed, he would be able to cut inside and make different types of runs than if he started on the right.

Such remarks are sure to give incoming United manager Erik ten Hag a headache as he considers how his team will line up next season. United are particularly low on attacking players, with Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, and Jesse Lingard among those who have left as free agents.

Let your voice be heard! Is Elanga deserving of a spot in Man United's starting XI? Here's where you can tell us what you think.

In only his third senior international appearance, Elanga scored his first goal for Sweden.

Sancho was a right-sided standout for Borussia Dortmund, but he was moved to the left side at United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his successor.Rashford has spent the most of his time with United in that role.

Elanga's desire to play in that position might complicate matters even further, prompting United to invest in a player who is most comfortable on the right side of an attacking role. On Sunday night, the forward's goal was not enough to prevent Sweden from losing 2-1 to their Scandinavian rivals.

"I'm delighted I scored, but I'm disappointed we lost," Elanga said of his goal. It's been 17 years since we've lost to Norway, so this is difficult to swallow. We were able to observe how they rejoiced with their fans. It was difficult to bear.

"When the game was done, all I wanted to do was go to Oslo." I'd like to defeat Norway. I'd like to celebrate in Norway, like they did here."
