Former Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan has slammed British High Commissioner Harriet Thompson for her tweet on the arrest of FixtheCountry Movement chairman Oliver Baker-Vormawor.

"Oliver Barker Vormawor, convener of the #FixTheCountry campaign, arrested again, I understand for a traffic infraction on his way to court," she wrote in the tweet. I'm curious to see where this goes..."

Dr. George Dampare Akuffo, the Inspector General of Police, has advised her to remain away from the country's internal affairs.

Miss Harriet Thompson was urged by the IGP to "learn to remain within the confines of what concerns you" in a forceful statement.

"Normally, the Ghana Police Service would not reply to statements like yours, which are clearly made from a prejudiced or misinformed perspective. However, we have learned from prior sad experience that ignoring such misinformed, unjustified, and prejudiced statements designed to destroy the Ghana Police Service's and our country's reputations has not been useful.

"For the time being, we would suggest a Ghanaian proverb to aid you in your diplomatic endeavors." 'Di wo fie asem,' as the adage goes, "learn to maintain within the bounds of what concerns you."

"Moreover, we believe your tweet to be a breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, 1961, which prohibits diplomatic missions from interfering in the domestic affairs of other countries."

Kwamena Duncan, who read the tweet on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, found it "extremely aggravating" and advised her to stay within the bounds of her diplomacy.

"My gosh!" says the speaker. A diplomat, the British High Commissioner!! "I'm sure she hasn't a clue as to why she's here," he remarked.

Kwamena thought the British High Commissioner did not grasp her role and attempted to educate her by adding, "You are a diplomat." To begin, you must comprehend what it takes to be a diplomat... A diplomat has a variety of privileges. They have something called the diplomatic bag, and no country has the authority to search it.

All types of immunities have been agreed to by the globe, and the reciprocal is that you do not interfere. That is the reciprocal: you don't go poking your nose into the internal affairs of the receiving country in exchange for all of these things. That's something you don't do "..

As if to paraphrase the IGP, Kwamena advised Miss Thompson to refrain from interfering in the country's internal affairs.

"What this tweet suggested was that the police force was breaking the law. How could they arrest someone who had already been apprehended by the authorities? ...Apart from insulting us, which was imperialist, neocolonialist, and unacceptably offensive, she attempted to offend us with that tweet.
