Between Joao Palhinha and Al-Musrati, there isn't much. To be accurate, three centre-metres.

The former is 6ft 3ins tall while the later is 6ft 4ins tall. The physical parallels between two of the Primeira Liga's most physically dominant central midfielders don't end there.

When it comes to interceptions and tackles per game, both are among the top of the Primeira Liga's midfielders (WhoScored).

Palhinha's ability to break off opponent assaults before launching his own with short, crisp, line-piercing passes helped Sporting Lisbon win their first domestic title in 20 years last season, and he was named to Portugal's European Championship squad.

Al-Musrati may not have won a league title, but what he lacks in prizes, he more than makes up for in efficiency.

"I saw a lot of his games in the Portuguese league, as well as a lot of them in the Europa League." You could tell how important he was to the group. Corentin Martins, Libya's coach, tells A Bola that the 26-year-old had a fantastic season.

"He's got quality, he keeps the game moving, he calms the game down, and he makes quick passes forward." We can also notice his incredible capacity to cover a lot of ground. He gets a lot of balls back. He reminds me a little bit of Danilo from PSG."

As Fulham hold Al-Musrati discussions, Wolves agree on a deal for Joao Palhinha.

With Wolverhampton Wanderers wanting to sign a dangerous defensive midfielder this summer, one who can provide muscle and presence in front of a backline that has become increasingly vulnerable as the season went, it's understandable that Al-Musrati would be on their wish list.

Not simply because Wolves undoubtedly qualify for a loyalty card because they purchase so much in Portugal.

Al-Musrati and Palhinha are about the same height. They also have essentially the same set of skills. However, with Lage anxious to keep Joao Moutinho and Sport reporting that Wolves are desperate to sign fresh-faced Barcelona 'number six' Nico Gonzalez, there is only place for one.

Palhinha, rather than Al-Musrati, is the man in pole position for a move to Molineux, according to The Sun. The long-term transfer target has already signed personal terms, and a long-awaited £20 million move could be completed in the coming days.

That does not rule out the possibility of Al-Musrati joining him in England. Fulham have been in contact with the 40-cap Libyan since May, with Marco Silva reportedly a great fan. Al-Musrati was just omitted from this list.
