Thiago Silva, a Chelsea defender, has written a poignant tribute to fans on social media following the end of the 2021/22 season.

During the season, the 37-year-old made 48 appearances for Chelsea, winning the Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Silva praised fans for their support on Twitter, describing the current campaign's finish as "fortunate."

He expressed himself as follows: "A happy and prosperous season's finish!! It's time to take a break and refocus. Thank you, friends."

The Brazilian is aiming to improve next season in order to win the Premier League for the first time in his career, with Chelsea needing to cut the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City to do so.

"To be honest, it's the Premier League." "It's a fantasy, something I yearn for," Silva has said.

"I've won every national league I've played in before, and the Premier League is no exception - it's something I truly want to win." Last season, we won the Champions League, and now I'm thinking about the Premier League.

"It's not that I don't want to win other competitions," he says, "but the Premier League is the one I really want to win."

Silva made 82 appearances in all competitions during his two seasons at Chelsea, scoring five goals and assisting two more.

The 37-year-old established himself as a major member of Chelsea's defense, demonstrating his leadership and quality despite his age.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel had already issued a challenge to the defender, who was his captain at PSG, pushing him to maintain his high standards ahead of the new season, despite his age.

According to the German, "Thiago will face a significant task as well. We recognize that he is not in the start of his career. Keeping the level up will be a significant challenge. It's a good decision (to extend his contract) if things continue the same."

Chelsea are poised to lose Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen at the conclusion of the season, with replacements expected to join Silva in the coming season.

Jules Kounde of Sevilla has been the most heavily linked, along with Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig, who might be considered as a logical replacement for the left-sided role.

When the new additions are announced this summer, Chelsea will be hoping Silva can build strong bonds with them.

Who will come through the door in the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital consortium's first summer transfer window at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Silva will play for the Blues next season.
