Chelsea have received a double transfer boost ahead of the summer transfer market opening, with their hopes of bringing in Adrien Rabiot and Ousmane Dembele both boosted.

Chelsea's chances of signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot have been given a big boost.

The Blues have been linked with a bid for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, and the Italian giants may be willing to split ways with the Frenchman if they can get his compatriot. Rabiot's Turin contract is slated to expire in a year, which means he could be available this summer.

Chelsea's hopes of landing Adrien Rabiot could hinge on Paul Pogba's next move

It comes as rumours say Paris Saint-Germain has dropped out of the battle to sign Ousmane Dembele, giving the Blues the upper hand in the race.

And, only weeks after Todd Boehly's £4.25 billion takeover of Chelsea, the club is likely to lose its record as the most expensive sporting team in the world.

Here are the most recent Chelsea headlines from Mirror Football.

Rabiot receives a transfer boost

Due to Paul Pogba's decision to join Juventus, Chelsea may be able to sign Adrien Rabiot.

The midfielder left Manchester United at the end of the season and is now set to return to Turin, with Juventus leading the race to sign him. Chelsea are said to be leading the pursuit for Juve midfielder Rabiot, who might be available for as cheap as £13 million, according to reports from Italy.

If Juventus can acquire Pogba this summer, it might open the door for Chelsea to capture Rabiot after the two collided on international duty at Euro 2020.

PSG is no longer in the race for Dembele.

Following Paris Saint-withdrawal Germain's from the competition to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele, Chelsea's pursuit of him has been boosted.

According to sources out of Spain, Dembele was once a target for PSG, but they are no longer interested. Thomas Tuchel worked with Dembele at Borussia Dortmund and attempted to bring him to Stamford Bridge in January before his £96.8 million move to Spain.

Chelsea is said to have offered the France international a four-year contract with a signing-on fee, and while the offer falls short of Dembele's demands, talks are set to continue.

Chelsea is on the verge of losing its title as the world's most expensive sports team, just weeks after their £4.25 billion takeover.

Todd Boehly's conotrium paid £2.5 billion for the Premier League club, with an additional £1.75 billion in the works. However, the NFL's Denver Broncos are poised to be purchased by American businessman Rob Walton in a £3.6 billion transaction.

And it means the Blues could be surpassed as the world's most costly sporting franchise fairly immediately.
