Collins Adomako Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Afigya Kwabre North, has urged the organizers of the June 4th event against moving forward with their intentions to stage an armed protest.

After attempting to carry firearms and employ private protection as well as address the public on Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the state-owned media, the organizers were prohibited by the police.

"We will bring our own security firm to give protection to protestors," the organizers said in a letter to the police. All firearms carried by protestors or contracted security personnel will be for personal protection only, and will be permissible under the Arms and Ammunitions Act of 1972. (NRCD 9) f) Route and destination suggestions:

The Demonstrators are expected to congregate at Circle."

"The procession will proceed from Circle to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, where the protestors will demand a slot on GTV to speak directly to the nation and lay out our grievances, in accordance with Article 55(11), which guarantees Ghanaians a fair opportunity to present their programs to the public through equal access to state-owned media."

Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah, speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Friday morning, said the demands were anti-democratic.

The organizers have revealed their true intentions behind the Fix The Country program, according to him.

He believes they are hiding behind the FixtheCountry Movement to undermine the country's democracy, and that if given the freedom to demonstrate, the demonstrators will bring firearms with them.

"The agenda that they have is becoming quite evident...

We are proud of our democracy. Everyone knows Ghana is facing difficulties, but at least we have something to look forward to in the morning. At the very least, we wake up with a sense of security... We can't allow only two, three, or four persons with a microphone to sway everyone to a specific point of view "The MP cautioned them against causing havoc in Ghana.
