The National Hajj Board has published the Hajj package for 2022, with the total cost of the journey set at GH39,000 for new pilgrims.
According to a statement published by Shiekh I. C. Quaye, Chairman of the Hajj Board, pilgrims who maintain their GH19,500 Hajj deposit for 2020 would only have to pay a GH7000 top-up, bringing the total to GH26,500.
According to Shiekh I. C. Quaye, the charge is lower than others in the sub-region, and the board, with the help of the government, has put in place measures to make pilgrims' financial outlay more manageable.
Housing, transportation, medical bills, flights, and other amenities in Mecca, Jeddah, and Medina are included in the 2022 Hajj package, according to him.
The first flight from Tamale to Medina will depart on June 17th, 2022, while the first flight from Accra will depart on June 21st, 2022.
According to Shiekh Quaye, all participating nations' Hajj quotas have been decreased, with just 3,069 pilgrims slated to travel this year from Ghana.
On health, he stated that the Saudi authorities have implemented rigorous controls throughout the Hajj season, which runs from July 7 to July 12, 2022.
"Those under the age of 65 will be eligible to do Hajj this year if they acquire the basic doses of immunizations approved by the Kingdom."
Pilgrims must provide a negative PCR test done within 72 hours after their arrival in the Kingdom," he said.
Pilgrims must be completely vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the head of the Hajj Board, with full doses of Pfizer/BioNTech, Oxford/AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sinovac.
Quarantine would not be required for international pilgrims who are completely vaccinated with vaccinations permitted in Saudi Arabia, according to him.
Pilgrims, on the other hand, must have medical insurance to pay any COVID-19-related treatment fees they may incur during their stay.
"Worshippers no longer need to make an appointment or receive a permit to pray at the Grand Mosque in Mecca or the Prophet's mosque in Medina. e-Hajj requires all aspiring pilgrims to register online. He remarked, "The e-Track is already operational."
