Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, has reportedly turned down Lionel Messi's request that Mauricio Pochettino be replaced at Parc des Princes with Marcelo Gallardoat, a 46-year-old River Plate coach.

Pochettino is expected to part ways with PSG this summer, according to reports.

Despite leading the Parisians to the French Ligue 1 title, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager has had a rough season.

Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid manager, had been widely expected to succeed Pochettino, but he appears to be more interested in being the next manager of the French national team.

According to El Nacional, Messi has mentioned Gallardo as a possible replacement, but Mbappe does not want PSG to consider the Argentine coach and instead prefers a more well-known European name.

Gallardo has had success in the Argentine Primera Division, having played for PSG during his playing career.

Liverpool are interested in signing Darwin Nunez and have made a €100 million (£85 million) bid for the Benfica striker this summer.

Sadio Mane, the Senegal international, appears to be on his way out of Liverpool this summer, with the Senegal international pushing for a move to German heavyweights Bayern Munich.

Even with Luis Diaz flourishing since his January move from Porto, the Reds will have a significant vacuum in their assault to fill.

Diaz's influence demonstrated that Portugal has a wealth of talent, and Liverpool might now strike again, this time against Benfica.

Liverpool have been connected with Benfica midfielder Nunez for months, and latest reports in Portugal indicate that their interest is growing.

Liverpool are 'keen' to sign Nunez this season, according to the Portuguese publication Record.

Jurgen Klopp, the club's manager, is 'passionate' about Nunez, and a bid of €100 million (about £85 million) has been made.

This comes after The Times reported that Liverpool like Nunez but will not be held hostage by him.

Liverpool appears to have a limit on how far they will go in a bid for Nunez, but this rumoured offer is massive.

Virgil van Dijk has praised Nunez, claiming that the Uruguayan is'very similar' to Manchester City's Erling Haaland.

Nunez, 22, had an incredible season for Benfica, scoring 34 goals and adding four assists in just 41 appearances.

Nunez, who is quick, strong, and technically gifted, has the potential to develop into a complete forward, and he even played on the left wing for Benfica last season.

That's crucial because Liverpool will need to replace Mane's influence, who also plays out wide and up front.

Many clubs across the world are interested in Nunez, and if Liverpool can land him, it will be a tremendous coup.

It's difficult to imagine Liverpool making an initial bid of £85 million for Nunez, as it would be a new club record.

Liverpool, we're sure, adore Nunez, especially now that he's returned to the club.
