Ghana Black Stars after their qualification for the world cup when they had a 0-0 draw with Nigeria in Ghana and 1-1 draw in Nigeria which secured their spot in the coming world cup November at Qatar are making every preparation towards the tournament. The national team is currently in a fine form after their 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in the ongoing afcon qualifiers.

Ghanaian football legends as well as the Ghana football Association are making everything possible to lure some foreign based players who are Ghanaians to switch their nationality and play for Ghana in order to strengthen the squad the country is making it fourth world cup appearance with. This is to ensure a greater impact and performance at the tournament since, these players are experienced and have played in Europe for years, In order to break the country's best performance which was in 2010 at South Africa after being Eliminated by Uruguay.

Currently, reports suggest that Brighton and Holv Albion right back, By the name Tariq Lamptey and Arsenal striker Eddie Nketsia have completed their nationality switch from England to Ghana.
