We imported 'Jerusalem stone' from Israel for foundation of National Cathedral - John Kumah.
John Kumah, Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu Constituency, has stated that when the National Cathedral is completed, it will provide the country with a substantial return on investment.
It will, he claims, become one of the country's key tourism destinations.
In March 2017, President Akufo-Addo suggested the construction of a National Cathedral, which he claimed would fulfill a promise he made to God before winning the 2016 General Elections.
In keeping with this, the government is investing substantially in the National Cathedral, which, once completed, will generate revenue for the government despite its strong Biblical foundation.
He explained on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' show that Ghanaians may no longer need to fly to Israel to worship because they will be able to sense everything that happens there when they pray at the National Cathedral.
"In fact, we want to relate it to the Solomon Temple in Israel, thus in terms of the foundation, we've gone to Jerusalem for Jerusalem stone for the foundation as a covenant stone, so that when you stand there, it'll just feel like standing in Israel..." he informed Kwame Nkrumah 'Tikese'.
Ghana is projected to reap the benefits of investing on the national cathedral project between 10-15 years as an asset-backed expenditure, he noted.
