Yaw Boateng Gyan, a former National Organizer of the NDC and a member of Dr. Kwabena Duffuor's Ahotor Project Team, claims that the opposition National Democratic Congress's National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, called off the project's inauguration at the party's headquarters in Accra.

All was ready for the occasion at the headquarters, according to him, when the National Chairman, through National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi, contacted to say the relaunch had been postponed.

"On Monday, June 6, 2022, while preparing for the relaunch on Tuesday, Sammy Gyamfi contacted me and informed me that the relaunch of the Ahotor had been placed on hold by the National Chairman, Hon. Ofosu Ampofo."

In a statement, the former NDC National Organizer noted, "This was the final contact about the reopening of the Ahotor Project with FEC."

"We are currently waiting for official news from the FEC about the resumption of the Ahotor Project," he continued.

Re: Ofosu Ampofo's Dirty Deeds

Our attention has been directed to a publication referring to the relaunch of the Ahotor Project with the above headline purporting to be from the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, dated June 9 but released on June 8 2022.

Here's how we'd like to describe it:

Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and I, Yaw Boateng Gyan, former NDC National Organiser, met with the NDC Functional Executive Committee (FEC) on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, and submitted a draft agreement on the execution of the Ahotor Project for the NDC Grassroots for their consideration.

The proposed accord was postponed by the FEC to two attorneys, Hon. Alex Segbefia and Sammy Gyamfi, for examination.

FEC offered, and we all agreed, to resume the Ahotor project at the headquarters on Tuesday, June 7 at One11 a.m. at the same meeting.

We congratulated the members of FEC and departed the meeting on Wednesday, June 1 2022, after agreeing to resume the Ahotor Project on Tuesday, June 7.

Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the national communications officer, provided us with a revised version of the draft agreement for our consideration on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022.

On the same Thursday evening, we offered further modifications to Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi, the national communications officer, for his review. We didn't hear from FEC over the weekend, so we concentrated on getting ready for the relaunch on June 7, 2022.

While preparing for the relaunch on Tuesday, June 6, 2022, Sammy Gyamfi contacted me and brought a word from the National Chairman, Hon. Ofosu Ampofo, stating that the relaunch of the Ahoto had been postponed.

This was the final correspondence with FEC regarding the Ahotor Project's restart. The formal notice from the FEC about the resumption of the Ahotor Project is still pending.

We want to reassure the NDC membership that our commitment to providing the base with the tools it needs to be financially self-sufficient is unwavering.

NDC is alive and well.

Ghana must continue to exist.
