Gennaro Gattuso has been affirmed as the new coach of Valencia, the La Liga side declared on Thursday.
The 44-year-old, who last oversaw Napoli, will supplant Jose Bordalas who was sacked by the club a week ago.
Gattuso has likewise overseen AC Milan, where he played as a confrontational midfielder for quite a long time, and won the Italian Cup with Napoli in 2020.
"For my purposes, football is energy, regard for the game, and love for the ball," Gattuso said in a video posted by Valencia via online entertainment.
"I know what it is to fear Valencia. I have seen extraordinary groups fall in this (Mestalla) arena, which will commend its 100th commemoration this season."
Gattuso has just marked an arrangement for the following two seasons.
He was sacked as Napoli manager toward the finish of the 2020-21 mission after a home draw with Verona in the last game saw them pass up a Champions League spot to Juventus by a solitary point.
Gattuso will be the tenth coach to assume responsibility for Valencia since dubious proprietor Peter Lim purchased the club a long time back.
Valencia completed 10th in La Liga last season and lost the Copa del Rey last to Real Betis on penalties.
