On the Tema-Accra motorway, a pro-LGBTQ+ billboard was noticed.

Members of parliament have threatened to defend the constitution if a billboard supporting LGBTQ+ rights is not removed.

Those responsible for the pro-LGBTQ+ billboard, For-Amoaning, should be arrested and prosecuted.

Sam Nartey George, a Member of Parliament, has issued the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, a 24-hour deadline to remove an unlawful LGBTQ+ promotional billboard constructed on the N1's Tema-Motorway segment.

On Thursday morning, Sam George, the primary sponsor of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021, spoke to the press alongside other members of the Anti LGBTQ+ group. The billboard's erection, he claims, is a breach of Ghanaian law, especially section 104 of the Criminal Offenses Act.

Sam George told the media that if the IGP, the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Advertising Agency, the MP, and the DCE do not act, citizens will rise up to preserve the constitution.

"...over the weekend, our attention was drawn to an illegality; we discovered that a billboard promoting the activities of the LGBTQ+ community had been mounted along the motorway; as sponsors of the bill in parliament and as Members of Parliament, we have deemed it necessary to show up here to register our strongest displeasure and discomfort for this unholy and untraditional advertisement that has been placed on a very iconic road, the N1 Tema motorway." We are requesting that the IGP, in collaboration with the MCE for the region, conduct out the appropriate security measures within the next 24 hours to guarantee that this billboard, which is an insult to the 1992 constitution, be removed.

"If the government fails to act, we will take action as citizens as commanded by our constitution to safeguard the constitution," he stated.

Moses Foh-Amoaning, Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, who was also present, called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those who designed, authorized, and paid for the illegal signage to be erected, as well as the cooperating advertising agency that provided the outdoor advertising space for the erection of the illegal signage.
