Double delight for Real Madrid

Following their 14th UEFA Champions League victory, Real Madrid has been delivering more and more good news to their fans in recent days. Luka Modric, one of their most illustrious midfielders, has elected to extend his contract, and Los Blancos have also agreed to sign Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco.

Modric extends his one-year contract.

Real Madrid's Luka Modric has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2023. Modric will turn 37 years old in September, thus this could be his final season with Real Madrid.

At Santiago Bernabeu, Modric has established himself as one of the greatest players of the modern era, earning five Champions League trophies and the Ballon d'Or in 2018.

To date, the 2018 World Cup finalist has spent nine seasons at Real Madrid, the most recent of which saw him add three more medals to his already illustrious career.

With a 1-0 final victory over Liverpool at Stade de France, the Blancos added their 14th European crown to their Supercopa de Espana and La Liga triumphs.

Since joining Madrid from Tottenham in 2012, Modric has made 462 appearances for the club, winning 19 major championships.

“I hope I can retire at Madrid. Madrid is my home. I feel very happy at the club, in the city, very loved by the people,” he said after winning the Marca Leyenda award earlier this month.

Real Madrid agree €100m deal with AS Monaco

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with AS Monaco for the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni. Both clubs are in the process of completing the paperwork and regulatory procedures for the 22-year-old’s transfer to be signed and officially announced.

Tchouameni’s performance in the previous Ligue 1 season drew a lot of attention, prompting big clubs from all over Europe to show interest in him.

In the hunt to recruit Tchouameni for the upcoming season, Real Madrid defeated PSG and Liverpool. Monaco was also in talks with heavyweights from France and England, but it was learned that the European champions were able to get Tchouameni for the coming season. PSG and Liverpool, according to rumors, backed out of the deal after realizing that Tchouameni was only interested in playing for Real Madrid.

This follows the signing of Eduardo Camavinga, a 19-year-old French international who joined Real Madrid from Rennes in 2021.
