Muslim women under the aegis of Coalition of Muslim Women for Asiwaju (COMWA), have congratulated former Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by its Chairperson, Hajiya Rasheedah Adebari, on Thursday, the group thanked Almighty Allah for the victory recorded by Asiwaju, who emerged as the ruling party’s flagbearer for the upcoming 2023 Presidential election.
Muslim News learnt that the former Lagos Governor, a Southern Muslim, polled 1,271 votes to defeat other contestants in a presidential primary election held at the Eagles Square, Abuja, between Monday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 8.
According to Hajiya Adebari, “We are using this medium to extend our profound gratitude to Allah for making today (Wednesday) a reality on the successful aspiration of our father, leader and mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the presidential flagbearer of All Progressive Congress, APC”,
The group, representing Muslim women across all the political zones, has been mobilising Muslim women all over the country in the last two months and have shown their unflinching support for the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Muslim women as home and nation builders are not only verifying and getting their PVCs but mobilising other women and youth to do so as well.
