When the summer transfer window begins in two days, Arsenal will have a lot of work to do. Despite finishing in the top five this season, they still have a long way to go before they can challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League crown. However, the squad is on pace, albeit they will require some reinforcement this summer in order to compete in the UEFA Europa League in 2022/23. They've been linked with strikers Tammy Abraham and Gabriel Jesus, but it appears that gaining Gabriel Jesus will be easier than obtaining Abraham from Roma.
Arsenal are yet to find a replacement for Aubameyang, who left in January, and will also be without Lacazette this season. This suggests that they will be in the transfer window to hunt for attacking players. Serge Gnabry is one of their key options given the fact he was once an Arsenal player. Signing Gnabry from Bayern Munich will be more complicated as the German club could ask for a very high fee given that Gnabry is one of their best players at the moment. Arsenal are also interested in strengthenimg their defense and they have options like Samuel Umtiti and Zinchenko. Umtiti might be a more easy option to acquire given the fact that Barcelona no longer find him useful. The image below depicts how Arsenal's current squad depth looks like.
Arsenal's squad depth.
Forwards: E. Nketiah and Balogun.
Wingers: E. smith Rowe, G. Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka.
Goalies: Aaron Ramsdale and Turner.
Full-backs: Keiran Tierney, Cedric Soares, Tomiyasu and N. Tavares.
Defensive Midfielders: M. Elneny and Thomas Partey.
Centre-backs: Rob Holding, G. Magalhaes, Saliba Williams and Ben White.
Offensive midfielders: Granit Xhaka, Albert Sambi Lokonga and M. Odegaard.
Arsenal need to strengthen their midfield and they have been linked with Youri Tielemans of Leicester city. The Foxes will ask for a huge fee but Arsenal are rich enough to pull off any deal this summer. If they want to win a silverware next season, they will need to sign atleast four top players this summer.
