The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, has announced that work on a hospital at Danfa, in the La Nkwantanang Municipality of Accra, will begin soon.

The chiefs and people of Adamrobe and Otinibi in the municipality gave 15 acres of land to the government for the project, which is part of the Agenda 111 plan.

The Agenda 111 project entails the design, procurement, construction, equipping, and commissioning of 101 district hospitals, six regional hospitals in newly formed regions, one regional hospital in the Western Region, two psychiatric hospitals in Kumasi and Tamale, and a redeveloped Accra psychiatric hospital.

The goal of the project is to guarantee that all Ghanaians have access to high-quality healthcare services, as well as to improve healthcare infrastructure and financial accessibility through the National Health Insurance Scheme.

When he accompanied a team from the Regional Security Council and the La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly to officially receive the land in Accra last Tuesday, the Greater Accra Regional Minister confirmed this.

He said that the government had given the contractor funding to begin work right away.

As a result, Mr Quartey promised the people that the project will result in jobs and high-quality healthcare, and he asked them to support the building work for the benefit of everybody.

The project's contractor, John Alex Dadzie, a commercial manager for Micheletti & Co Limited, said work would begin as soon as the necessary permits were obtained.

He promised that the people of the region would be the project's initial source of labor, and he appealed for their help in ensuring the project's success.

Safohene Kwaku Oykere, a land custodian who turned over the land to the government, reaffirmed that they had consented and surrendered the land to the government unreservedly.

He requested that local residents be given priority in recruiting throughout construction, and he committed his support for the initiative from start to end.
