Based on European titles won, below are the top seven managers in European football history.                                                   Winning any of Europe's leagues is a source of pride, but winning a European trophy is one of the best achievements a manager can achieve. Many managers have won major European trophies over the years, including the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, Intertoto Cup, Cup Winners Cup, and the newly formed Europa Conference League. We'd be looking at the best managers in European football history based on the number of European titles they've won.

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, led the club to their 14th Champions League victory last season. In the process, the Italian manager became the first to win the Champions League four times.  He also sealed his place as the best manager in the history of European football based on European titles won with the triumph.

Carlo Ancelotti has now won eight European titles. He has four Champions League titles, one Intertoto Cup, and three UEFA Super Cups to his name.

The former Chelsea manager is followed by legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, and retired Italian manager, Giovanni Trapattoni. Both retired managers have won six European titles each. The latter won one Champions League, one Cup Winners Cup, three Europa League titles, and one UEFA Super Cup. Sir Alex Ferguson on the other hand won two Champions League titles, two Cup Winners Cups, and two UEFA Super Cups.

Legendary late Liverpool manager, Bob Paisley is one of the greatest British managers of all time. The late Englishman is also one of the best managers in the history of European football having won five European titles before his death in 1996.

Bob Paisley won the Champions League three times, the Europa League once, and the UEFA Super Cup once.

He is tied with former Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, current Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, and current AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho.

Zidane has won the Champions League thrice and the UEFA Super Cup twice in his managerial career. Pep Guardiola has two Champions League titles and three Super Cups to his name. Jose Mourinho has won the Champions League twice, the UEFA Super Cup twice, and the Europa Conference League once.
