MANCHESTER UNITED are working on a new contract for wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports.
The Argentine arrived from Atletico Madridfor £420,000 in 2020.
He has impressed coaches with his development since joining, particularly in the last 12 months.
Alejandro Garnacho made two Prem appearances last season.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils will offer Garnacho an improved five-year contract.
He adds that talks are progressing, with United wanting to wrap up a deal "this year".
Garnacho's current deal expires in 2025, with the MEN claiming that Juventus are keen to try and lure him away from Old Trafford.
The 17-year-old enjoyed an amazing season with United's academy sides.
He helped the Under-18s win the FA Youth Cup by scoring seven goals in six games - culminating in netting twice in the final in front of over 60,000 fans at Old Trafford.
Garnacho was also awarded his first-team debut by Ralf Rangnick, coming on late during his side's 1-1 draw with Chelsea in late April.
He also made an 11-minute cameo against Crystal Palace on the final day.
The youngster trained with Lionel Messi and Co after receiving a shock Argentina call-up in March, although he is yet to earn his first cap.
After winning United's Young Player of the Year award, Garnacho received strong praise from the club's youth coach Travis Binnion.
Following the Youth Cup final, Binnion said: "That boy could be in any stadium in the world and he wouldn't care.
"That's his make-up. A few of them are like that and that's why they are going to have good careers.
"This football club is remarkable at that, it's the best in the world at that.
"We have to keep that going, we have a responsibility to keep that going - the pipeline.
"It's nice to give the fans a bit of something because they're different class."
Alejandro Garnacho helped Man Utd win the FA Youth Cup.
