BRENTFORD have announced the departures of five first team players, including Manchester United and Tottenham target Christian Eriksen.
The Bees are desperate to retain their great Dane for next season, but face stiff competition to do so.
Christian Eriksen made 11 appearances for the Bees.
Thomas Frank's side have confirmed that Eriksen is out of contract, but that they are attempting to keep hold of him.
Eriksen made 11 appearances for the Bees after his January arrival, scoring once and laying on four assists as he helped his side climb the table.
On the former Spurs and Inter Milan star's future, Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "It is no secret that we would love Christian to remain at Brentford for more seasons, and we will continue to discuss that possibility with him and his representatives."
Brentford also confirmed that defenders Julian Jeanvier and Mathias Zanka Jorgensen will be released upon the expiry of their contracts.
Jeanvier made 58 appearances in four years with the Bees, although saw his latter seasons blighted by injuries.
The Frenchman's last outing for the club came in the 2019-20 season, while he spent the following campaign on loan at Turkish side Kasimpasa.
Jorgensen, meanwhile, penned a one-year deal in September last year.
The former Huddersfield defender made 10 appearances in all competitions for the West Londoners, scoring once.
Loan goalkeepers Jonas Lossl and Alvaro Fernandez will return to their parent clubs.
Lossl, 33, joined from Midtjylland, making three appearances in all competitions.
Fernandez, meanwhile, deputised for David Raya - making 16 appearances for the Bees.
Giles added: "On behalf of everyone at Brentford I’d like to thank the players who will be leaving us this summer.
"Julian has done a good job but been very unlucky with a significant injury. Jonas has been a top professional at the training ground and helped us enormously while David recovered to full fitness.
"Alvaro has benefitted hugely from playing in the Premier League but now needs to establish himself as the first choice goalkeeper back at Huesca or elsewhere.
"Zanka has also been very unlucky with injuries, we intend to continue to help his return to full fitness and then re-assess the situation from there."
Brentford have also announced that Matthew Cox, Fin Stevens and Paris Maghoma will be promoted from their B team to first team squad.
While eight players loaned out, including Marcus Forss and Charlie Goode, will return for pre-season.
Zanka has been released by the Bees.
