Cafu believes Darwin Nunez will thrive if he joins Liverpool, based on the club's recent purchasing history and Jurgen Klopp's coaching abilities.
Sadio Mane has piqued Bayern Munich's interest on many occasions, with the Bundesliga champions expressing a desire to pursue the Senegalese international.
Bayern Munich is rumoured to have had a second offer for Liverpool's Mohamed Salah rejected earlier this week, but they plan to pursue him again.
Mane's exit would open the door for Liverpool to sign Nunez, who has been linked with a €100 million (£85 million) move to Anfield.
Nunez has 48 goals in 85 games in all competitions for Benfica, averaging 1.2 goals per 90 minutes in the Portuguese Primeira Liga last season.
In 41 games last season, the 22-year-old scored 34 goals in all competitions, including six Champions League goals against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Ajax, and Liverpool.
Cafu feels Liverpool rarely make mistakes in the transfer market after the success of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Alisson, as well as more recent arrivals like Thiago and Luis Diaz.
"Look, every time Liverpool buys a player, it's a spot-on purchase," Cafu told Stats Perform at a media day ahead of his participation in Sunday's Soccer Aid charity event.
"Klopp is a fantastic coach who has done a fantastic job at Liverpool for many years, and if he wants this kid, it's because Liverpool wants to invest big on him."
Cafu also mentioned his former team Roma, which won their first major European trophy in the Europa Conference League this season under Jose Mourinho.
Cafu, who won the Scudetto with Roma in 2001, was pleased to see his former club win a championship for the first time since the Coppa Italia in 2008.
"It's difficult, but not impossible, to win prizes in Rome." "We won, we celebrated, and we've been partying until now," he continued.
"Congratulations to Mourinho and the entire team on a tremendous season, which includes a Conference League title, and let's hope they can keep it up."
"When they win, they rejoice for a long period," says the author. "I wish them a happy holiday season."
Cafu, on the other hand, refused to make any comparisons between Mourinho's winning club and the Roma teams in which he played.
He went on to say, "It's not that we were superior; it's simply that you can't compare." "It was a Scudetto-winning side, and this club won as well, but you can't compare a winning team."
