In the midst of frustrating Liverpool contract talks, Mohamed Salah lays out a clear plan for the future.

Mohamed Salah was fantastic for Liverpool during the 2021-22 season, scoring 31 goals and providing 16 assists, but he only has one year left on his current contract.

Mohamed Salah has admitted that he is always looking for "new ways" to improve his prolific record, as contract talks with Liverpool continue.

The Egypt international, 29, has one year left on his current contract and it's unclear whether he'll stay at Anfield. He is said to be willing to commit his future to Liverpool, but he is also keen on joining Barcelona on a free transfer next summer.

After a stellar season, the Reds are eager to keep Salah on their books. In 2021-22, he helped Liverpool win the FA Cup and EFL Cup with 31 goals and 16 assists. They also advanced to the Champions League final, where they were defeated 1-0 by Real Madrid.

Salah was named PFA Players' Player of the Year for his efforts last season, beating out Kevin De Bruyne, Son Heung-min, and Cristiano Ronaldo. He also won the FWA Football of the Year award, completing the prestigious double.

Salah also received the Premier League's Playmaker award and shared the Golden Boot with Son. Speaking to France Football, the Ballon d'Or organizers, the former Chelsea and Roma forward revealed how he improved his game ahead of last season.

"Last summer, lying in front of the sea on weekend getaway in Greece, I was asking myself how to be a better goal scorer, which is getting harder and harder so I always have up to three fullbacks behind me," Salah said, as per Spanish outlet Marca.

"I really have to look for new ways to open up the game in front of me and find new spaces. My statistical data have improved as a result of this introspection. My [oppositional] defender must be thinking to himself, 'Damn, him again!' My main objective is for him to have no time to catch his breath. He must feel threatened at all times during the ninety minutes."

Salah hasn't ever won the Ballon d'Or and is listed as questionable out again this fall after Karim Benzema's incredible season. The 33-year-old veteran forward has 44 goals in 46 games of the season to help Real complete a treble.

Carlo Ancelotti's strike force won La Liga, the Champions League, and the Supercopa de Espana. Benzema also had international success, as he helped France win the Nation peoples League last October, scoring in both the semi-final and final.
