Liverpool breaking news: Raheem Sterling is set to return as the verdict on Darwin Nunez is confirmed

With the transfer window now open, all of the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from Anfield, including the current events on Darwin Nunez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Raheem Sterling.

The summer transfer window for 2022/23 is now open, and Liverpool are committed to spending strongly in the upcoming weeks.

After losing out on the Champions League and Premier League titles last season, Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly be looking for ways to improve, which may include bringing in new players. Meanwhile, a number of the German's current squad mates have been linked with summer moves away.

There is still plenty of time in the window, but with a slew of rumours going, make sure you stay up to date on who may be arriving or setting sail Anfield in the coming months.

Darwin Nunez has been one of the most prominent names linked with the club in recent months. The Reds are expected to pay €80 million (£68.1 million) for the Benfica striker, with the club keen to add to their attacking options amid ongoing speculation about Sadio Mane's future, with the Senegalese linked with a move to Bayern Munich.

Despite Manchester United's reservations about a big-money transfer, Nunez's former club Almeria's sporting director Joo Gonçalves has assured that the Uruguayan will adjust quickly. "He won't have any adaptation issues," he said. Darwin is humble, gifted, has a winner's mentality, and a strong work ethic."

While Darwin Nunez appears to be an expensive addition to Liverpool's attack this summer, a move for Raheem Sterling appears unlikely. The England forward has been linked with a move to Manchester City, with Trevor Sinclair claiming he would be welcomed back to Anfield.

"I think they'd [Liverpool] have him," he told talkSPORT. I believe Liverpool fans would welcome him back after seeing what he accomplished at Manchester City and how he conducted himself."

Liverpool are reportedly open to selling midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer for a low fee. The former Arsenal star has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that £10 million would be sufficient to see them cash in.

Oxlade-contract Chamberlain's expires next summer, and Premier League rivals West Ham United have expressed interest in signing him.
