Yesterday's Thursday, 9th June 2022 was a sad day for the Mamprugu kingdom as we lost one Member of the 7 Council of Elders of the Nayiri in the person of Nba Kpati-Raana Ali Seidu. This sad incident took place at the Tamale Teaching Hospital in Tamale, the body was since sent back to Nalerigu, capital of the Mamprugu kingdom and buried as customs and traditions demand.
The Kpati-Raana is a member of the Nayiri 7 Council of elders that sees to the day to activities of the Palace. The Nayiri 7 Council of elders are the handlers of the Nayiri and are collectively called "Nayiri Kpamma", they're also called Nadoliba or Namoɣariba. The Kpati-Raana as part of his roles has a "Fɛɛnŋa" a metal handheld musical instrument that produces sound and is used to announce the presence of the Nayiri.
Nba Kpati-Raana Ali Seidu was enskined by the Nayiri, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga in November 2017 after the demise of Kpati-Raana Alhaji Abdul Rahaman.
