According to reports reaching DGN Online, 16 troops on a military operation are fighting for their life after an accident in the Eastern Region.

 

According to reports, the military vehicle they were riding in somersaulted and landed in a neighboring bush off the road.

 

 

 

When the terrible occurrence occurred, the cops were supposed to be returning from an operation in the Eastern Region.

 

 

 

Some troops were observed laying on the roadside, while others assisted in the rescue of those trapped inside the wrecked truck.  Later, the military published a statement detailing the facts surrounding the tragedy. The sixteen military officials from the Ghana Armed Forces' (GAF) Southern Command had been sent for Operation Halt II responsibilities to combat illicit mining on several river bodies in the Eastern Region, according to the statement.

 

The disaster happened on the Suhum-Anum Apapam Road on Wednesday, June 9, 2022, when the military vehicle in which they were riding suffered a mechanical issue and tipped over.

 

 

 

Before being taken to the 37 Military Hospital, the injured troops were treated at Anum Apapam clinic.  According to the GAF, the Military High Command visited the individuals on admission, and as of this morning, 12 of the injured people had been discharged, while the other four are in a stable condition and responding to treatment.

 

The Ghana Armed Forces have expressed their gratitude to the citizens of Anum Apapam and the surrounding environs, as well as the Apapam Clinic staff who came to the injured personnel's help, as well as the National Ambulance Service for the victims' quick evacuation to the 37 Military Hospital.

 

 

 

GAF stated that it will continue to rely on the help of all Ghanaians in combating illicit water mining as well as any other illegal operations.
