A student fell in love with her supervisor, who was old enough to be her father, after spending hours in an interview for a part-time job.

Suzanna Diaz, now 25, from Lake Jackson, Texas, was seeking for a part-time work in 2018 to supplement her income while attending university when she saw an opening at a local restaurant.

She went to the restaurant and was filling out a job application at an adjacent booth when she was touched on the shoulder.

She turned around and saw an older man, who introduced himself as Tony Kahanek, the restaurant's 55-year-old general manager, who was coming to interview her.

They realized they had a connection as they conversed, so Tony requested Suzanna for her phone number before she left. Suzanna claimed she went home that night and repeated the discussion over and over in her thoughts.

The next day, Suzanna received a text from an unknown number, which she hesitated to react to until she realized it was Tony. They began conversing and met for supper after work a few days later.

They discovered they shared a lot of similar interests as they got to know one other better and began exchanging personal tales. They kissed just before he left her off at her house, which Suzanna described as a 'whirlwind' event.

They kept their relationship a secret to prevent any negative publicity that may have harmed their relationship when it was still in its early stages. Tony asked Suzanna to move in after a few months of working together and speaking every day. He wanted to come home to her at the end of the day.

Suzanna was ecstatic, but she knew she'd have to inform her parents about their connection, and she was scared about how they'd respond. Suzanna's parents first questioned her sincerity, but after witnessing her real joy, they welcomed Tony into the family.

Tony's mother, on the other hand, was quick to welcome their relationship. She now hopes the two will marry and create a family one day. Several of Tony and Suzanna's friends have been unsupportive, with a couple of them giving the two strange glances when they try to be affectionate around them.
