Kevin De Bruyne permitted to miss Belgium's next Nations League game
Kevin De Bruyne is one of three Belgium players allowed to go off from the get-go occasion after their 1-1 draw with Wales on Saturday, coach Roberto Martinez said.
De Bruyne, Yannick Carrasco and Thomas Meunier have all been permitted to skirt the remainder of the current month's four Nations League A Group Four matches, which is away against Poland in Warsaw on Tuesday.
"De Bruyne has sufficiently given, so has Carrasco," Martinez said. "Meunier played two games with hardly a pause in between after not playing for a long time. We can't compel anybody."
Nonetheless, De Bruyne, who had been basic about playing in the Nations League this month after a long season with Manchester City, said he would have been glad to proceed.
"I have played three counterparts for very nearly an hour and a half. Truly I am OK and I would have gotten a kick out of the chance to play the last game against Poland, however it is the choice of the coach," he told journalists.
De Bruyne leaves after Belgium let slip a lead in Cardiff and permitted Wales to balance in the 86th moment.
"It is a pity about the late balancer," added De Bruyne. "We were in order toward the start of the final part, however at that point we neglected to play football. However, with every one of the progressions in the group, it was not the most terrible execution."
