According to football.london, Chelsea has received good indications from Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele's representation regarding a summer transfer.
The Frenchman's current contract with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of the month, and he has yet to be persuaded to extend it.
He appears to be on his way out of the Catalan giants, and Chelsea appear to be the frontrunners to get him on a free transfer.
According to football.london, the player's camp has sent out 'positive signals' about a move to the London giants this summer.
Dembele has been injured several times throughout his time at Barcelona. Last season, he was sidelined for the first four months of the season due to a significant knee injury.
However, he rebounded admirably and finished the season with 13 assists and one goal in just 21 league appearances.
As a result, there are no worries about his ability on the field, but his unsatisfactory fitness record may be the cause for the lack of transfer interest this summer.
Chelsea currently has a plethora of offensive options, but it has been rumoured that manager Thomas Tuchel aims to add two more forwards to the assault.
Tuchel is familiar with Dembele from their time at Borussia Dortmund. The Frenchman might be a good fit for the attacking midfield role on the right side.
The World Cup champion prefers to cut inside from the right wing, where he led the league with 11 assists last season. If he survives, he should have a greater chance.
The Blues may be willing to take a chance on him given that he is potentially available on a free transfer. At the present, there does not appear to be any high-profile competition for his services.
Paris Saint-Germain were rumored to be close to signing a pre-contract in January, but their interest has cooled since sports director Leonardo's departure.
