50 PICK NPP FORMS

By the conclusion of nominations yesterday, a total of 50 persons, including national chairmanship contenders, have chosen forms of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to run in the party's upcoming national elections.

 

Various contenders for the offices of National Chairman, National Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organiser, National Women's Organiser, National Youth Organiser, and National Nasara Coordinator were given the forms.

 

 

 

In all, seven individuals chose nominations to run for National Chairperson, ten people chose forms to run for National Vice Chairperson, and six people chose forms to run for General Secretary.

Prof. Christopher Amenyaw Akumfi, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, Stephen Kwabena Boateng, Sammy Crabbe, Akwasi Osei Adjei, Joseph Ayikoi Otoo, and George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah are among the candidates for the position of National Chairperson.

 

Edmond Oppong Peprah, Alhaji Masawudu Osman, M.C. Jewels Annan, Rita Asobayire, Michael Omari Wadie, Kwaku Nkansah, Kingston Akomeng Kissi, Danquah Smith, Ishmael Yahuza, and Nuworsu Ken-Wuud are among the candidates for the role of National Vice Chairperson.

 

 

 

Justin Kodua Frimpong, Musah Iddrisu Superior, Fredrick Opare Ansah, John Boadu, Charles Bissue, and Ramseyer Agyeman-Prempeh are among the candidates for the office of General Secretary.

Henry Nana Boakye, Daniel Nii Quartey Titus Glover, Eric Amoako Twum, Bright Essilfie Kumi, Dr. Kwame Afriyie, Seth Adu-Adjei, and Nana Owusu Fordjour are among those vying for the position of National Organiser.

 

Kate Gyamfua, Hajia Sawudatu Seed, Ellen Ama Daaku, and Akosua Serwaa Bonsu have applied for the National Women's Organiser position, while Prince Kamal Gumah, Salam Mustapha, Abanga Yakubu Fusani, Michael Osei Boateng, and Karikari Klinsman Mensah have applied for the National Youth Organiser position.

 

 

 

Alhaji Muazu Issaka Kunata, Awal Mohammed, Ishmael Haruna, Sulemana Alhassan Atakpo, Abdul-Raman Diallo, Abdul Aziz Hurana Futa, and Haruna Maiza are among those vying for the position of National Nasara Coordinator.

The National Officers' Elections will be held between the 8th and 12th of June, 2022, with nominations opening and closing on the 8th and 12th of June, 2022, filing of nomination papers on the 13th and 15th of June, 2022, vetting of aspirants on the 17th and 20th of June, 2022, release of vetting report on June 22, 2022, and hearing of appeals (if any) on the 24th and 25th of June, 2022. Each candidate paid a non-refundable nomination fee, with National Chairpersons paying GH20,000, Vice Chairpersons GH15,000, General Secretary GH10,000, and all other posts GH8,000.

 

 

 

Applicants from the Special Wings, such as the Youth, Women, and Nasara, had to pay GH6,000.  In accordance with the party's criteria, all potential candidates were required to submit their biometric voter ID card provided by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

 

"A prospective candidate for any of the National Officers positions should be proposed by one (l) member of the party's National Council and seconded by 20 recognized and active registered members of the party," according to the party statement. All seconders must be current on their dues."

 

 

 

The statement went on to say that each nomination form must be accompanied by three passport-sized pictures, and that the National Elections Committee will be in charge of evaluating all potential candidates from June 17th to June 20th, 2022.
