Jumia's tenth anniversary was honored by a celebration of the company's effect on Ghanaians through e-commerce and technology.

The company's 10-year anniversary, themed "10 years with you," will last a month, and it aims to assist its customers by offering a diverse choice of relevant items at competitive rates and forming new collaborations with both worldwide and local businesses.

The celebrations kicked off at the Airport View Hotel in Accra, where several industry stakeholders and officials offered their perspectives on e-development, commerce's problems, and future trends.

Tolulope Thomas, the CEO of Jumia Ghana, stated at the inauguration, "It's that time of year again, and it's tremendous!" "It's been a fantastic ten years in Ghana, taking e-commerce to new heights."

"We are ecstatic to commemorate the impact, progress, and amazing individuals." We will continue to assist all of our vendors and partners in their efforts to expand and develop their companies while providing convenience and affordability to our customers. We will also remain committed to developing job opportunities for young people and having a beneficial influence on the economy of the country by expanding into more rural regions. We are appreciative to all of our workers, customers, policymakers, sellers, and ecosystem actors for assisting us in achieving this historic milestone.

Anita Wiafe-Asinor, Executive Secretary of the E-commerce Association of Ghana, Stephen Boadi, Digital Marketing & Communications Consultant, and Abena Chrappah, Digital & Media Manager and e-commerce lead, Guinness Ghana, spoke on the socio-economic impact of e-commerce in Ghana over the last decade.

Hajia Memuna, the owner of FT Tawakaltu restaurant in Accra, said of Jumia's influence in Ghana, "It is astonishing how the internet can transform people's life." Until I collaborated with Jumia in 2020, I never believed in internet commerce. Business was particularly poor during the COVID-19 outbreak because movement was limited and many of my customers couldn't come to my restaurant to buy food.

Things changed when I connected with Jumia, as they assisted me in reaching out to more customers in a secure and simple manner. This aided my recovery from the pandemic's impacts, and I was able to operate an additional food establishment in Accra as a result. The impact of Jumia on small enterprises like mine is enormous. Thank you, Jumia, and congratulations on your tenth anniversary."

Jumia released its Sustainability Report earlier this year because it is committed to contributing to social development, creating job and business possibilities, and bridging the income gap for tens of thousands of people.

As part of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Safe and Affordable Helmet Program, Jumia donated 400 UN ECE 22.05 Certified Helmets to its delivery employees during the Anniversary Launch event in Accra.
