HONORS COMMITTEE GATHER ADWOA SAFO SUBSEQUENT TO NEGLECTING TO CONTACT HER

The Privileges Committee of Parliament has gathered openly Sarah Adwoa Safo, Dome Kwabenya MP, to show up before the panel on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

 

As per an official statement gave by the Parliamentary Service and endorsed by the Director of Public Affairs, Kate Addo, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection neglected to respect all solicitations to show up before the Committee after the Speaker's order.

 

The new request is to be distributed in "all applicable media".

 

"This comes after all endeavors to arrive at Honorable Member by the Committee fizzled," portions of the request read.

 

"The request from a piece of the Committee's work, alluded to by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin, as per Article 97(1)(C) of the Constitution and Orders 15 and 16(1) of the Standing Orders of Parliament, for thought and report to the House, on the shortfall of the Member from Parliament for in excess of fifteen sittings, without consent recorded as a hard copy of the Speaker during the First Meeting of the Second Session of the Eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

 

"The Committee has utilized every accessible mean, both authority and informal to serve the Member with a greeting letter, including sending the greeting letter to her office and categorize in Parliament, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, where she watched over as the Sector Minister, her authority email addresses, realized virtual entertainment handles and through her Personal Assistant," the assertion read further.

 

The four-time MP has been offered the choice to respect the greeting through Zoom, a stage she as of late ended her quiet on in a media interview with Accra-based Joy News.

 

The request structure part of crafted by the Privileges Committee after Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin alluded the issue of the shortfall of about three Members for in excess of 15 sittings in the First Meeting of the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament without earlier consent recorded as a hard copy.
