According to French website Foot Mercato, Arsenal attacker Nicolas Pepe has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) ahead of the summer transfer season.

In the summer of 2019, Arsenal paid Ligue 1 club Lille a club-record £72 million for the Ivory Coast international. In his final season in France, he scored 23 goals and added 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Pepe, on the other hand, has struggled to match his Lille form at the Emirates Stadium. Under Mikel Arteta's guidance, the 26-year-old has had minimal success, appearing in just 951 minutes of first-team action in 2021-22.

The forward's contract with Arsenal has two more years left on it, but both parties have accepted the fact that the trade did not work out. He's rumoured to be looking for a move away from Emirates Stadium in order to get more regular playing time.

The Gunners have reportedly 'lost patience' with Pepe, according to the same source. The north London giants want to move the Ivorian forward before the 2022-23 season.

If the rumour is to be believed, Pepe has already been offered to a number of clubs. PSG, the French champions, are one of the clubs interested in acquiring the forward's services this summer.

Angel Di Maria's contract with PSG expires next month, and the club is already looking for a replacement. According to the article, they have picked Barcelona player Ousmane Dembele as the best candidate to replace the Argentine.

According to the aforementioned source, incoming PSG sporting director Luis Campos is keeping an eye on Pepe's situation in London. The Portuguese were instrumental in the forward's transfer to Lille from SCO Angers in 2017.

PSG may be able to sign Pepe from Arsenal for a bargain price.

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are willing to trade Pepe for a substantial discount this summer. Despite signing him for £72 million, it appears they are willing to sell him for a loss. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to find a buyer for the 26-year-old this summer. While he has been offered to PSG, Sevilla has recently been linked with a move for him.

Pepe's Arsenal future is still up in the air, but it's fair to say that he has fallen short of expectations in London. In 112 appearances for the club in all competitions, he has scored 27 goals and contributed 21 assists.
