Tammy Abraham, an England and Roma striker, might be a target for Manchester United this summer as the Red Devils aim to bolster their offensive options for next season.

After missing out on Darwin Nunez, United could turn to Tammy Abraham.

The Red Devils had attempted to sabotage Nunez's move to Anfield, but the Uruguayan striker now appears to be on his way to completing his transfer from Benfica to Liverpool for a club-record amount. United executives are said to be unhappy by their inability to bring Nunez to the club and are now considering alternative striker possibilities.

According to Alex Crook of TalkSPORT, Erik ten Hag's team could look to re-sign Roma forward Tammy Abraham after his outstanding debut season in Italy.

"I've just got a sense they might try to get Tammy Abraham out of Roma," he told TalkSPORT's GameDay show, via The Sun. He was someone I believe they considered in January.

"As I indicated, we interviewed Tammy on Darren Bent's Boot Room, and he seemed extremely settled in Italy, but neither Roma nor Manchester United are in the Champions League."

"I believe he will want to return to the Premier League at some point." Again, the question is whether Manchester United is an appealing enough prospect for him.

After losing out on Champions League qualification in their respective leagues last season, both United and Roma will participate in the Europa League next season.

With Edinson Cavani's impending departure leaving Cristiano Ronaldo as the club's only senior striker, Ten Hag is said to be interested on signing a new centre forward this summer. Before the end of the season, Ronaldo will be 38 years old.

Abraham scored 26 goals in 89 Premier League games for Chelsea and Swansea City before joining Jose Mourinho's Roma for £36 million last summer.

He scored 27 goals and added five assists in 53 games in his debut season in Italy, with 17 of his goals coming in Serie A as he finished the season as Roma's leading scorer and helped them win their first major European Cup.

His performances for the club have not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal reportedly showing an interest in Abraham, with the Gunners reportedly contemplating an approach for him as recently as April.
