TOTTENHAM are said to be keeping an eye on Gareth Bale's status as he considers a third term with the club.

However, as he considers his options during the summer window, the Welshman is garnering interest from other Premier League clubs.

Bale has not confirmed where he will play his football next season

Bale's Real Madrid contract expired at the end of the 2021/22 season, making him a free agent.

He's been linked with a return to Cardiff City in the Championship, as well as a third stint at Spurs.

The five-time Champions League winner joined White Hart Lane in 2007 and had an exceptionally successful six-year spell with the club.

After that, he moved to Real Madrid in 2013 for a then-world-record transfer fee.

However, after his playing time at the Bernabeu dwindled, the attacker returned to Tottenham on a season-long loan in 2020.

Spurs have cooled their interest in re-signing him, according to the BBC, however director of football Fabio Paratici is still keeping an eye on him.

Other Premier League clubs are also rumored to be interested in Bale's services.

Both Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been mentioned as possible destinations for the former Southampton player.

Nottingham Forest, who have just been promoted, are also keeping an eye on him, with Welsh coach Steve Cooper at the helm.

Bale ruled out a move to Getafe earlier this month when asked about his future, saying: "I want to be playing going into the World Cup to be as fit as I can." My body will get more robust and healthier once I start playing regular football." When you're in and out of a team, it's quite challenging. "All I need to do now is play some games," she says. I'm not in football for the money, certainly. I want to be playing to maintain my fitness for the competition and to assist the club where I am now a member.

It'll be a win-win situation for whomever I go because I'll be playing, hopefully well, and getting ready for the World Cup."
