“And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 21:9-11, 23-27
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded
her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And THERE SHALL BE NO MORE CURSE: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
Revelation 22:1-5
The passage above describes life in the world to come. There are several wonderful features about the world to come.
1. The world to come has a very beautiful city - the New Jerusalem.
2. All nations walk in the light of this city.”
“3. No evil thing enters the city.
4. Abominations cannot come to the city.
5. Anyone that tells a lie or makes a lie cannot come to the city.
6. There is a beautiful river of life in the city.
7. There is a tree of life in the city.
8. There will be no night in the city.
9. There will be no need of a candle or even the sun in the city.
10. There will be no curse there.
As you can see, there are many wonderful characteristics to be enjoyed in the world to come. We are going to have a great time in the world to come. Most of the evil things on earth will not be found in the world to come. Liars are a very common group to find on earth. But there will be no liars or makers of lies in the New Jerusalem. That is really significant! There is no tree of life or river of life on earth, but there will be a tree of life and “a river of life in the world to come.
In the world to come, there are powers that will wipe out curses, sorrow, crying and death. The curses that affected Adam and Eve, Noah and Israel will no longer work. A great power would have
wiped out these terrible judgments forever. Indeed, it will take a great power to end the sorrow and the pain that is in this world
