Arsenal transfer is a "better option" than Manchester United, according to Robert Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski has been warned that joining Premier League titans Manchester United over fellow giants Arsenal this summer would be a mistake.
Former Premier League champion Chris Sutton believes Lewandowski would be better suited to upping sticks in the red half of North London rather than the red half of Manchester. The Polish international has had a spectacular career, primarily in the Bundesliga.
However, with only a year remaining on his current Bayern Munich contract, Lewandowski has informed the club hierarchy of his desire to leave Germany and try his luck elsewhere. Given the 33-year-incredible old's goal total, just about anything is possible, Almost every major European club has been linked to a move for the striker.
While Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with Lewandowski since he made his feelings known, Bayern remain adamant that he will not be leaving this summer.
Because United and Arsenal are clearly scouting the market in the hopes of bolstering their attacking options, both clubs are easily linked with a potential move for the Polish icon.
Both teams are still reeling from contrasting seasons that saw both United and Arsenal miss out on Champions League football and end up in the Europa League next season. The Gunners came within two points of winning the game of the much-coveted fourth position, United finished sixth with their lowest points total in Premier League history.
As a result, Sutton sees no reason why signing for the Red Devils would be appealing to one of Europe's most lethal strikers. He even claimed that every other big six club would be a better fit for Lewandowski.
Wantaway Arsenal, according to Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, are a "better option" than Manchester United.
Last season, the Red Devils finished sixth with their lowest points total in a Premier League season, while the Gunners finished just outside the top four.
Sutton can’t see why Lewandowski would want to go to United and thinks Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal would all be more preferable choices.
'I saw that Lewandowski was mentioned. If he does not join Barcelona, he will join Manchester United. But why?! What makes him want to join Manchester United? There are larger and better options available.' Sutton stated on BBC Radio 5 Live.
