NATIONAL CATHEDRAL STARTED ON LIES – KOFI BENTIL

Kofi Bentil, Vice President of IMANI Africa, has asserted that the National Cathedral was built on falsehoods.

Even though the administration first stated that it would not use public funds to pay the project, he claims that there is proof to the contrary.

He expressed his doubts about the plan and decried the tension that has characterized the project in a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 15.

"At the National Cathedral... Is this a structure for God? Even devoted Christians would find this thought repulsive! Christians always build their churches without stealing from the government's limited resources!!! Indeed, the church aided the government! Not to detract from it! What happened after the initiative started on the false premise that it would not require state funds?

Millions of dollars worth of perfectly good buildings were demolished by the state!! Isn't that the usage of public funds? Following then, a succession of awful events occurred! For GOD? Around a building? He added, "Terrible start, horrible procedure, bad progress, stealing state monies, poor communication, never-ending disputes!!"

"I am encouraged in my certainty that Jehovah God, whom we follow, does not desire this construction!!" continued the private legal practitioner's article. He has control over the entire cosmos and spoke to Moses in the desert!

No amount of warped religious logic or unfounded notions of national morality can justify the theft of impoverished people's money in order to keep a commitment to your deity! and erect a deranged monument to yourself on the backs of the impoverished

The statements of Kofi Bentil contribute to the growing tide of popular dissatisfaction with the National Cathedral.

Until now, the Minority in Parliament has bemoaned the project's lack of openness.

Manasseh Azure Awuni, an award-winning investigative journalist, and Sulemana Braimah, Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), have both joined demands for the government to focus on other pressing matters rather than the National Cathedral.

Meanwhile, the National Cathedral's Board of Trustees has been modified to reflect Dr. Mensa Otabil's departure as the Founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

He is no longer a member of the Trustees, according to the National Cathedral's website as of Wednesday, June 15.
