Maradona Yeboah Adjei, known in the industry as Guru, has accused GHAMRO of stealing his money.
Speaking in an interview with Gerry Gee-De General on Free 97.5 FM in Techiman, the Ghanaian musician said he is yet to get his money, about one million dollars from the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
He explained on the Free E-Block show on Saturday, June 11, that his songs alongside songs from Wizkid and Burna Boy were used at X Factor, a reality show in the USA which he was supposed to have earned him about a million dollars.
After he contacted ASCAP, (a company which collects royalties for musicians based in the USA), he was told that the money has been collected and paid to GHAMRO and was supposed to be given to him when he visited the ASCAP office in the USA based in Manhattan.v
