As Paul Pogba's transfer from Manchester United nears completion, Fabrizio Romano has shared his thoughts on the situation.
Pogba has had a rough few years at Old Trafford, where he has never quite found his best form, and Romano believes it is understandable that the France international has decided to leave and return to his previous club.
Romano believes Pogba's return to Turin isn't quite finalized yet, but he has specifics on the deal the player is expected to sign soon in the newest edition of his CaughtOffside blog.
The transfer news journalist also reveals why he believes Pogba chose to leave United, claiming that the appointment of a new manager in the form of Erik ten Hag was never going to make a significant difference to the issue.

Paul Pogba appears to be on his way back to Juventus on a free transfer.
"Juventus is optimistic and certain that Paul Pogba will sign his contract to return to Italy soon," Romano says.
"The verbal agreement is in place; the only issue to be settled is budgetary matters, but Pogba has given Juventus his word.
"It will be a €8 million net wage plus add-ons per season." Only in July will the official signature be received.
Pogba's return to Juventus could help him reclaim his sense of importance.
Fans of Manchester United will be disappointed, but not surprised, by Romano's assessment of the Frenchman.
"In my opinion, Pogba had no choice but to leave teams, and this has nothing to do with Erik ten Hag: whichever the manager was, Paul needed to feel significant in the club, and Juventus can provide him with that assurance," Romano continues.
It's a shame we didn't get to see Pogba at his finest in the Premier League, and we'll likely never know who was to blame.
The player may have done more to flourish at Manchester, but he's only the latest in a long line of prominent names to fail at the club, including Alexis Sanchez, Angel Di Maria, Romelu Lukaku, and Harry Maguire in recent years.
If Pogba's second stint at Juventus is as successful as his first, football will emerge victorious.
