Manchester United Fixture List: Final 5 Games Of The 2022/23 Premier League Season

The final five games of Manchester United’s Premier League campaign have now been announced, featuring two newly promoted sides. April 29th - Aston Villa (H): With possibly all still to play for as we enter the final five games of the season, Aston Villa will mark our final game of April. ‘The Villains’ finished fourteenth last season under the charge of new boss, United’s old rival Steven Gerrard. Since that admittedly lacklustre finish, Gerrard has swiftly taken charge of the bulk of his summer transfer business spending heavily. Diego Carlos is set to arrive from Sevilla, the Brazilian centre-back costing approximately £28million. Additionally, his countryman Phillippe Coutinho is also set to join the side on a permanent deal, after impressing during his loan spell with the club. Philippe Coutinho gave Aston Villa a 2-0 lead. Concerningly for United, this match will come following back-to-back ‘Big Six’ ties against Chelsea (H) and Spurs (A). May 6th - West Ham (A): The team who we narrowly tipped to a Europa League spot will mark one of our final challengers in the 22/23 season. Having come so very close to tasting European glory last season, losing to Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi-finals of the Europa League, ‘The Hammers’ will surely be looking to continue to strengthen their side in the coming months. West Ham versus Crystal Palace; Declan Rice of West Ham United. (Alamy) Last season we faced the London side three times, conquering them on both occasions in the league, but falling short in the early stages of the EFL Cup. As of the time of writing, West Ham have not confirmed any summer arrivals. 13th May - Wolves (H): Our penultimate home game of the season will be against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Midlands side have proved to be a challenging opponent for United in recent years, and this will likely be no different. Of the ten times the two teams have faced each other since 2019, neither team has ever scored more than two goals in the fixture. Anthony Elanga scored his first Manchester United goal against Wolves with a header. (Alamy) Additionally, none of those ten games has seen a combined total of more than three goals. Under the stewardship of Bruno Lage in his debut season as manager at Molineux, Wolves finished 10th in the league. On the two times they faced us, the results were shared 50/50, with both teams picking up one win over the other. 20th May - Bournemouth (A): United final away game of the season will be against newly promoted Bournemouth. Having spent two seasons back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League in the 19/20 season, ‘The Poppies’ are now back in the Prem with a point to prove. Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has also attracted the interest of Newcastle (Image: Alamy) Picking up just two losses in their final eighteen league games last season, the side comfortably secured their place back in the Premier League via the automatic promotion slots, only missing out on the title by two points. Former Chelsea and Liverpool man Dominic Solanke comfortably led the line for the side last season, bagging 29 goals in 46 Championship appearances. May 28th - Fulham (H): After a long season, United’s final game of the season is set to be a tough home match against newly promoted Fulham. The winners of the 2021/22 Championship, return to the Premier League after just one season away. The London side were relegated two years ago after finishing in 18th place, missing out on safety by eleven points. Whilst this is a largely similar Fulham side to the one that we saw a few years ago, the big difference is the return of Aleksander Mitrovic’s form. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s seven goals make him the top goalscorer in the qualifying stages The Serbian international set the record for most goals in a Championship season last year, scoring 43 goals in 44 games. Additionally he ranked third for assists for the team that season. However, Fulham will be without Fabio Carvalho going forward. The young Portuguese star signed with Liverpool earlier this year, with him now set to join up with his new teammates. Manchester United's final five fixtures of the 2022/23 Premier League season in full 29 April: Aston Villa (H) As always it’s worth noting that the later games in a Premier League season are subject to change. This is due to possible fixture movement.
